I've always wondered about local councils. I seem to question how much real authority they really do have. They set local rates and taxes for us. Yet they seem to be secretly getting away with paying any tax whatsoever. We all remember the famous expenses scandals before 2010. As I have said before. The entire system is corrupt from top to bottom. How can councils charge excessive rents on fairgrounds visiting small towns? You can now expect to pay up to £2:50 a ride on The Waltzers. I and many others would call this a rip-off. Local councils are nothing more than extensions of bloated bureaucratic government. Remember one thing only...You see their one hand. But the other hand is well hidden out of sight. They offer the community outcasts a small amount of money. But then take back excessive amounts by force or threat with courts etc. Our rents cost far too much in shop premises. Our rates cost the earth. What do they really offer to the unfortunate few?
